What are vertical feed mixers?
Vertical feed mixers are equipped with blades that tear and cut hay bales and roughage into particles while mixing.
Vertical feed mixers are typically used on dairy and beef farms. They provide a very thorough mix for any beef or dairy ration. Sometimes a special auger needs to be an option depending on the ration make up. You’ll need a vertical feed mixer if particle size reduction is required. It is critical that you select the proper mixer type for your feed operation. Vertical feed mixers aid in cutting down hay if you need reduced particle size by bringing the feed to the top and going back through the vertical feed mixer to ensure proper mixing. Efficient mixing is key to good feed production.
